Acupuncture is an intricate and ancient system of medicine that has been used for over 5,000 years. There are 365 acupuncture points located on the body creating a network of meridians. During optimal and well-balanced health, Qi (pronounced “chee” and often translated as life force or energy) easily moves throughout this network. When blockages and obstructions in the meridians occur this may cause pain and illness. Acupuncture is a method of selecting specific points and then inserting a thin, single use, sterile needle which activates the Qi and unblocks the meridian pathways, healing patterns of disease and restoring balance to the body. Each treatment is designed for the individual based on their unique presentation.
